HOLD Ceramic Exhibition Review – Belconnen Arts Centre, Canberra

Updated on:

HOLD is an exhibition currently showcasing some exquisite pieces of ceramic art at the Belconnen Arts Centre in Canberra. This free exhibition gives you the chance to get up close to a range of ceramic pieces that are on display in the exhibition.

HOLD celebrates ceramics and gives you the chance to admire a variety of pieces – some intricate and delicate, some whimsical, but all functional, as well as pleasing to the eye. There is something calming about the space and seeing all the ceramics on display and considering the amount of work that must have gone in to the most intricate pieces.

On a display are a range of practical items all of which are aesthetically pleasing in differing ways. The items include cups, bowls, mugs, plates, jugs, teapots and statement pieces.

Many of the items on display in the art exhibition were for sale, which I got excited about as I really liked some of the items, however many of the pieces on display have already been sold.

The shape and form, colours and lines on many of the pieces were very pleasing to the eye. So the ceramic art exhibition is well worth a visit.

As well as exploring the gallery space and looking at the various ceramics on display, you can also vote for your favourite ceramic exhibit as part of the  People’s Choice Award.

HOLD ceramics art exhibition is currently underway at the Belconnen Arts Centre and runs until the 2nd July 2023.

Belconnen Arts Centre is well worth a visit in June 2023. There’s also the incredible 100 Canberra portrait exhibition taking place currently so you’ll have plenty to see at Belco Arts.
